About the Author

Marie Chhibber is the founder and owner of the Suzuki Cello School of Austin, an active Suzuki cello studio of students aged preschool through adult in Austin, TX. She holds Master’s degree in Music and Human Learning from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a Bachelors degree in cello performance from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, studying with Martha Gerschefski and Pamela Devenport. In addition, she also completed a comprehensive two-year Suzuki cello pedagogy program while completing her undergraduate studies. While completing her Masters degree, Mrs. Chhibber studied topics in music education research, string pedagogy, cello technique, music in therapy and special education, classroom and behavior management, behavioral psychology and learning theory, and philosophies of music education.

Mrs. Chhibber is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the American String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas and is a registered Suzuki cello teacher.
